Didem will be teaching ‘Pinched!’ at Touchstone from August 6–10, 2018. In this workshop, students will learn Didem’s techniques of using bisque molds and soft slabs for pinching as well as a handful of tricks on how to make pinched work without the typical hand strain that often occurs. Demonstrations and discussions will include the process of making terra sigillatas and their use at mid-range temperatures. You will then decorate your terra sigillatas and work with AMACO velvet underglazes to create a sense of playfulness directed through the color palette, while retaining a minimalistic design. This workshop is suitable for All Levels.
